“Spiritual disciplines” are things we do to stay in love with God and grow in faith. They can be things we do alone or together; they can be ways to spend time with God or to serve others. As the people of Sylva First UMC share one of their spiritual disciplines with you each week, we hope it will inspire you to new ways of loving God and growing in faith.
Hi my name is Rowan. I am in second grade and I am eight years old.
One thing I like to do to stay close to God is I like to pray to God every single night. Usually I ask God to keep everyone safe in my family, or everyone I know. I pray that nothing bad happens to anyone I know’s house. I do the same prayer every single night, but it changes up. Sometimes I might do a short one, sometimes I might do a long one. It really depends if I’m tired or not.
I think praying at night is something everyone might try because it can help you know about God.
